This is one of our favorite hiking trails in Death Valley and you can see our hike into Mosaic Canyon to decide if you want to hike the entire trail. The trail head is very close to Stovepipe Wells up a 2 mile gravel road which climbs 1000 feet to the parking area.
If I only had time to do two hikes in Death Valley, I’d hike this trail twice. This isn’t a knock on the other parts of the park, rather an acclaim of the loop’s beauty, and most notably its variety. I would highly recommend timing your hike to finish the trail at sunset. The hike can take anywhere from 2.5-4.5 hours depending on your fitness level, so plan accordingly. Zabriskie Point.
